The Fitness Specialist Certificate program at American River College has provided me with the education, experience and hands-on training that I will use to help you meet your nutrition and fitness goals. Classes in this program included: Nutrition for Fitness, Applied Physiology of Exercise, Applied Kinesiology, Fitness and Exercise Assessment, Designing Fitness Training for the Active Older Adult*, Techniques of Strength Training Instruction, Techniques of Group Fitness Instruction, Identification and Management of Fitness Injuries, Administration of Fitness Programs and one semester of Work Experience/Internship.

ACSM Certified Personal Trainer
Whether your goal is gain strength, lose weight, regain lost functionality, or all of the above, it can’t adequately be done without some exercise. You can relax knowing that as an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and a Specialist in Senior Fitness I’ve had the training and education necessary to properly design an exercise program tailored to meet your individual needs. I can design a program for you that includes an easy-to-follow, easy-to-stick-to nutritional plan that will produce results in as little as two training sessions a week! (Note: if your goal is to lose a significant amount of weight your training sessions will not start until the third week. I will explain why in your free initial consultation.)
ISSA Specialist in Fitness Nutrition (NOT ACTIVELY CERTIFIED)
Whether you want to gain muscle, lose fat, or live healthily, your limiting factor usually lies beyond exercise. Poor nutrition is what holds people back. Although I have not paid the money and taken the CEUs to keep this certification "current" I still have the knowledge and training that I used to obtain it. I can help you dispel the common myths about nutrition, and then work with you to design a "real world" nutrition plan that you can actually stick with and enjoy.
ISSA Specialist in Senior Fitness (NOT ACTIVELY CERTIFIED)
Modern science has given us the ability to slow and even reverse the negative effects of aging. And study after study has shown that seniors are not only capable of real exercise, but can vastly improve their health, strength, mobility, and independence through exercise. Although I have not paid the money and taken the CEUs to keep this certification "current" I still have the knowledge and training that I used to obtain it. I can help you set realistic goals for your health, and then enjoy achieving and exceeding them.
